Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 April 2026
These terms govern your use of Legal Data Hunter — the website at legaldatahunter.com, the REST API at /v1/*, and the MCP server at /mcp. By creating an account or otherwise using the service you agree to be bound by these terms.
The service is operated by GoodLegal SAS (France). Contact: zacharie@goodlegal.fr.
1. Account & eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential, and for all activity under your account.
- One person or one legal entity per account; sharing credentials across organisations requires an Enterprise plan.
2. Acceptable use
You may use the service to search and retrieve legal documents, build legal-research tools, integrate it into AI agents, and other lawful research and product use cases. You agree not to:
- Use the service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Resell or redistribute bulk data exports outside the scope of your plan.
- Use the service to provide a regulated legal opinion to a third party in any jurisdiction in which doing so requires a licence you do not hold.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, fingerprinting, or quota enforcement (e.g. by creating multiple free accounts to evade the per-account daily cap).
- Probe, scan, or stress-test the infrastructure other than as part of a coordinated security disclosure.
- Re-identify, dox, or build profiles of individuals named in the indexed documents in a way that would be unlawful under GDPR or comparable law.
3. Data accuracy & "as-is" disclaimer
We ingest legal documents directly from official registries (e.g. Légifrance, BOE, EUR-Lex, RIS, national court databases). We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the index current and accurate, but:
- We are not the official publisher; the canonical text is the one published by the issuing authority.
- Documents are provided as-is with no warranty of completeness, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose.
- The service is not legal advice. Nothing returned by search, resolve, or document-retrieval tools constitutes legal advice or a lawyer-client relationship.
4. Plans, rate limits, billing
- Plans and prices are listed at /pricing. Each plan has a per-minute cap, a per-day cap (Free only), and a per-period cap.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are issued only as required by applicable consumer law (in particular, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for individual consumers).
- We may change pricing on 30 days' notice; existing subscribers keep their current price for the duration of the active period.
5. Intellectual property
- The compilation, indexing, ranking, and metadata produced by Legal Data Hunter are our intellectual property and protected by EU sui-generis database rights.
- The underlying primary legal sources (statutes, court decisions, regulations) are public-domain or licensed by their official publishers; their original copyright (if any) belongs to the issuing authority.
- You retain ownership of your queries and any output you build on top of the service.
6. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or fail to pay an invoice. We will give 7 days' notice and an opportunity to cure unless the breach is severe enough to require immediate action (e.g. ongoing abuse). You may close your account at any time from the account page or by emailing support.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) €100 or (b) the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. for fraud, gross negligence, or death/injury caused by negligence).
8. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and, for substantive changes, by email to active subscribers at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law & venue
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France — without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
