Legal Data Hunter Website Terms of Use
These Terms govern direct use of the free services made available by Legal Data Hunter, Inc. through legaldatahunter.com, including free accounts, free search and retrieval tools, and other access expressly identified as free services, together the Free Services.
These Terms do not govern paid self-serve or enterprise services. Paid business services are governed by the General Service Agreement, applicable Service Terms, and an Order Form or online order summary.
Legal Data Hunter, Inc. is a Delaware corporation, referred to as LDH, we, us, or our. Our notice address is 2810 N Church St STE 89040, Wilmington, DE 19802, United States.
By affirmatively accepting these Terms, you agree to them. If you use the Free Services for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
1. Who may use the Free Services
The Free Services are only for legal professionals and law students using them for professional, legal-research, or legal-education purposes. They are not consumer legal services and are not directed to children.
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. A law student under 18 may use the Free Services only through an authorized educational institution and with the consent and supervision required by applicable law. The institution must authorize the student's access and accept responsibility for the institutional account.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and connected applications, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account.
You may not share credentials between unrelated organizations, bypass account limits, or create accounts to evade quotas or enforcement.
3. What the Free Services provide
LDH indexes, structures, searches, resolves, and retrieves legislation, case law, official doctrine, and related legal materials from multiple sources and jurisdictions.
Coverage displays, document counts, source status, dates, and update information are informational snapshots. They may be incomplete, estimated, delayed, or changed. The Free Services are not exhaustive, and a result showing no match does not mean that no relevant material exists.
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any Free Service, source, feature, or limit at any time.
4. Not an official source or legal advice
LDH is not a court, legislature, official publisher, law firm, or legal-services provider. The Free Services and their documents, citations, metadata, summaries, translations, rankings, links, search results, and model-assisted outputs are provided for information and research only. They are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship.
The Free Services may contain omissions, outdated material, duplicate records, OCR or extraction errors, inaccurate metadata, broken links, translations, or model-generated errors. You must verify material against the issuing authority or another canonical source before relying on it. You remain responsible for professional judgment, legal review, citation checking, deadlines, filings, advice, and decisions.
5. Limited permission to use the Free Services
Subject to these Terms, LDH gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable right to use the Free Services for your professional legal work, legal research, or legal education.
You may use retrieved material in your own research and work product only as permitted by applicable law, your plan, and the rights and restrictions of the relevant source or rights holder. LDH does not grant rights it does not possess.
Unless LDH gives separate written permission, you may not use the Free Services for bulk extraction or delivery, redistribution, resale, sublicensing, model training, creation or augmentation of a legal database, persistent storage of substantial portions of indexed materials, self-hosting, or an unauthorized substitute for the Free Services.
6. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- break the law, court rules, professional duties, privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, source restrictions, or publisher terms;
- re-identify, harass, discriminate against, dox, profile, or unlawfully target people appearing in legal materials;
- submit unlawful, malicious, privileged, confidential, or unnecessarily sensitive information;
- probe, scan, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, or bypass security, authentication, rate limits, or usage controls, except under an authorized security-testing program;
- scrape or systematically extract the Free Services outside authorized interfaces and limits;
- resell credentials or provide an unauthorized substitute for the Free Services; or
- use unverified output in a way reasonably likely to cause unlawful or material harm.
Free users should not submit privileged or confidential legal-matter information, special-category or criminal-offence data, health or biometric data, financial credentials, government identifiers, children's data, export-controlled information, or other highly sensitive data. Use of the Free Services may not preserve privilege, work product, professional secrecy, or confidentiality.
7. Your Query Content
You keep your rights in Query Content, meaning queries, prompts, submitted references, search parameters, and other information you submit through a query.
Retrieved results, documents, rankings, summaries, and other outputs returned by LDH are not Query Content. Your use of those outputs remains subject to these Terms, applicable law, and the rights and restrictions of the relevant source or rights holder.
When you submit Query Content under the Free Services Terms, you allow LDH to use it to provide, secure, maintain, evaluate, and improve LDH, including to develop and train models and systems owned or controlled by LDH.
Query Content used for model development or training is not linked to your account. LDH may retain and reuse it for the disclosed purposes for as long as those purposes continue, subject to applicable law and your statutory rights.
Service providers may process Query Content only to provide services to LDH. LDH does not authorize them to use it for their own model training, advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
LDH does not offer a general contractual opt-out from this use for the Free Services. If you do not agree to it, do not use the Free Services. This does not limit any statutory right to object or other right that cannot lawfully be waived. Do not submit privileged, confidential, or highly sensitive information through the Free Services.
The Privacy Notice explains how LDH handles Query Content and personal data. The Cookie Notice explains browser technologies. Those notices provide information and are not contracts.
8. Ownership
LDH and its licensors retain their rights in the Free Services, software, interfaces, documentation, source inventory, selection and arrangement, proprietary metadata, enrichment, normalization, ranking, compilation, branding, and related technology.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, you allow LDH to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you as its source without permission.
9. Suspension and termination
We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful activity, source restrictions, breach, abuse, harm prevention, or legal compliance. You may stop using the Free Services and close your account through available controls or by contacting us.
When access ends, your right to use the Free Services ends. Provisions that by their nature should continue will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and general provisions.
10. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE FREE SERVICES AND ALL MATERIALS AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
LDH DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, AND OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, RESULTS, AND ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
LDH DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ANY SOURCE, DOCUMENT, AUTHORITY, COURT, JURISDICTION, DATE RANGE, OR UPDATE WILL BE INCLUDED, FOUND, RETURNED, OR MAINTAINED, OR THAT A "NO RESULT" RESPONSE MEANS NO RELEVANT MATERIAL EXISTS.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LDH and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or reliance damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, anticipated savings, or data, arising from the Free Services or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LDH's total aggregate liability arising from the Free Services, these Terms, and all related claims will not exceed US $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms prospectively for product, source, security, legal, or operational developments. A revised version will show a new version and effective date. We will provide notice and request renewed acceptance where required by law or appropriate for a material change. If you do not agree, stop using the Free Services.
13. Governing law and disputes
Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state courts in New Castle County, Delaware, and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, each party waives trial by jury, and claims must be brought individually rather than as part of a class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding.
Before filing a claim, the complaining party must provide written notice and allow 30 days for good-faith discussions, except where urgent injunctive relief is reasonably necessary.
14. General
You may not assign or delegate these Terms or any right or obligation under them, in whole or in part, by operation of law or otherwise, without LDH's prior written consent. Any attempted assignment or delegation in violation of this provision is void. LDH may assign or transfer these Terms and may delegate any of its rights or obligations under them, in whole or in part, by operation of law or otherwise, without your consent, to any person or entity selected by LDH. You consent in advance to each such assignment, transfer, and delegation. LDH will notify you of the effective assignment, transfer, or delegation. As a condition to any such assignment, transfer, or delegation, the selected person or entity must assume LDH's applicable obligations in writing. Upon that written assumption, the assignee will become the provider under these Terms and the assigning LDH entity will be released from obligations arising after the effective date, without releasing liabilities accrued before that date. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, fiduciary, attorney-client, or joint-venture relationship. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
These Terms are the entire agreement about direct use of the Free Services. The Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice are separate disclosures. Electronic acceptance has the same effect as a handwritten signature to the extent permitted by law.
